Maintenance Manager

Broad Responsibility: Oversees daily field operations to repair and maintain all commercial refrigeration, HVAC systems and some general R&M from time to time for restaurants and retail environments within the operations. These tasks are to be performed in a timely and professional manner to achieve high quality workmanship, efficient scheduling, strong interpersonal relationships and communication and compliance with safety and regulatory standards.


Main Duties & Responsibilities:

1. Primary escalation points for complex refrigeration and HVAC diagnostics and repairs.

2. Advanced troubleshooting on complex issues for walk-ins, reach ins, grab and go coolers, prep tables, ice machines, RTUs, make-up air units and hot-side restaurant equipment (if applicable).

3. Verify accuracy and quality of repairs before job completion.

4. Ensure local codes, EPA, CARB, manufacturer standards and company policy are followed.

5. Installation of new equipment, replacements and system upgrades.

6. Ensure timely documentation, accurate reporting and proper record keeping for items such as but not limited to work orders, checklists, work logs etc.

7. Support, develop and ensure execution of preventative maintenance programs

8. Coordinate with vendors, suppliers and 3rd party trades as needed

9. Oversee inventory levels of common parts, consumables and specialty tools

10. Maintain any and all tools and equipment needed to do the job. This includes cleaning, organizing, and maintaining all storage closets and work areas.

11. Guests (Internal and External) are our focus and #1 priority.

12. Maintain strong relationships with restaurant team members, managers, airport, airlines and other stakeholders in the airport.

13. Communicate repair status, timelines and any issues clearly and professionally

14. Provide transparency on delays, parts availability and cost impacting factors

15. Participate in meetings, evaluations, audits and provide recommendations as a stakeholder.

16. Enforce safety policies, PPE requirements, lock-out/tag-out and EPA handling of refrigerants.

17. Ensure adherence to OSHA, building codes and environmental regulations

18. Follows all security guidelines for outside repair company personnel including checking of airport badges or responsibility for escorting non-badged repair personnel on premises.


Required Skills and Qualifications:

1. Minimum 5+ years of commercial HVAC/R repair experience (restaurant or food service environment preferred)

2. Strong expertise with commercial walk-in coolers/freezers, reach-in and low-boy units, refrigerated prep tables, ice machines, RTUs, split systems and make up air units, PM programs and diagnostic procedures.

3. Proficient in brazing, leak detection, vacuuming, recovery, charging, system diagnostics and electrical troubleshooting

4. Strong organizational skills for scheduling, prioritizing work, multi-tasking and balancing multiple demands

5. Effective written and verbal communication skills

6. Ability to remain calm, supportive and solution oriented under pressure

7. Ability to stand and work in confined spaces for long period of time.

8. Ability to walk for extended periods to visit multiple unit properties.

9. Valid State Driver’s License required.

10. Ability to work flexible schedules, including weekend

11. Hot side equipment repair experience (ovens, fryers, grills, coffee equipment)

12. Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus

13. Manufacturer specific training a plus

14. High school diploma preferred.
